If you’re like the majority of small enterprises, there’s never plenty of time or money. Especially with regards to advertising. You understand you have to advertise to construct business, but it’s tough to advertise when funds are tight.
That’s where guerrilla advertising comes in. Guerrilla advertising (sometimes called “guerrilla marketing”) is all about using the resources you have at your disposal to create business. These are things that could be a little off the beaten path of mainstream advertising, but they still prove highly effective if done properly.
Guerrilla Advertising is definitely an unconventional means of performing promotional activities. Usually very funny or subtle, it’s a great way to promote a small business with a low budget and create buzz. But you’ll need plenty of creativity.
I researched into Guerilla advertising/Ambient Media which helped me to with The Enviromental Oppurtunities brief. Here are some examples that actually caught my attention.
This Mr clean Guerilla Ad would certainly attract attention due to cleanliness of this one line on the zebra crossing. It is a simple idea and has an image of Mr clean on the edge of the line. The brightness of the line shows how good the item is.
This piece of ambient media is a promotion to the tv programme ‘Trueblood’ At the end of a piece of wood there are sharp pieces that appear to be like stakes you would use to kill a vampire. This advertisement is original and quite humorous. Going for a stake would enable viewers to recollect about the programme ‘Trueblood’
I really love this bit of guerilla advertising because once i first saw this I believed that it was a noble and clever idea. The folks walking throughout the image of a dog on a shopping centre floor become fleas and advertises Frontline: Flea spray.
This Kill Bill Movie Release Promotion is realistic and quite scary. It definitely shows the movies genre and this section of guerilla advertising would be remembered and gain fans.
This part of Guerilla Advertising is extremely effective. ‘The faster you get, the faster you go’. If the cp in a car appeared as if this, there wouldn’t be as much accidents on the road. A hard hitting, clever ad.
